Tender description
At the time of tender preparation there are circa 705 dwellings in the Loughrea area. Each of these dwellings will require a full electrical inspection in accordance with ETCI requirements. All works must be carried out by a registered RECI or ECSSA person, and the appropriate certification will accompany all electrical works to the current regulations at the time of inspection of the property (Periodic Electrical Inspection Report & Test Record Sheet for each dwelling as per ET101 – National Rules for Electrical Installations). A Completion Certificate for Existing Installations shall be prepared by the Contractor, where Restricted or Controlled Electrical Works are required, and shall be forwarded to Galway County Council as set out in the contract requirements. A Certificate of Completion for new installations shall be prepared by the Contractor, if necessary, and shall be forwarded to the Electricity Supply Board as required by the regulations of the Board. A copy of the new certificate shall be forwarded to the Engineers. If certification cannot be provided for a property a detailed scope of works for remedial work is to be supplied to Galway County Council. The Scope of works if required for a property will have to explain in detail what works are required to certify the house to the current regulations and exactly where in the property the remedial works are required. A template for the remedial works can be found in Appendix 11. An electrical inspection form is also to be carried out using the GeoPal application. This will generate a report that will automatically be sent to GCC. The dwellings will be either occupied or vacant during the works. If any dwelling is found to need Urgent attention or there is a serious defect, the Contracting Authority must be contacted immediately by the contractor via phone and later via email detailing what urgent works are required Each of the properties within this Tender will need to have a new fire alarm system installed along with carbon alarms.
