Summary of the work Audit Wokingham Borough Council public facing digital estate from a user experience point of view and produce a report detailing where usability can be improved across sites and pages and levels of priority for identified improvements. Latest start date Tuesday 1 June 2021 Budget Range £9,000 to £20,000 Why the Work is Being Done We are aiming to improve the user experience of our digital services, conforming to modern UX design principles with usability at the forefront of our approach. Problem to Be Solved We're looking to embed a process of continuous improvement for our digital services making them easier to use and more focused on customer needs. We're looking for an independent audit to suggest key areas to improve the usability of our digital services to feed in to and inform this process. This work will enable us to correct any user experience issues found and determine levels of priorities for areas of improvement identified. Who Are the Users This work will not deliver a service, however it will help us better meet the needs of people who use the council's information or services online. Existing Team This is a standalone piece of work. Current Phase Not applicable Skills & Experience • Have evidence and experience of delivering usability audits, preferably of government services • Have evidence and experience of understanding user-centric design principles. • Have evidence and experience of understanding accessibility requirements in relation to websites • Have evidence and experience of testing with people from a range of different demographics • Have evidence and experience of assessing websites for usability through mobile devices • Have evidence and experience of providing designers and developers with guidance relating to usability Nice to Haves Show involvement in the wider usability community - for example through publishing blog posts, running training and highlighting trends and best practice Work Location This work can be completed remotely. Working Arrangments To reduce travel cost and time this work can be completed remotely. Once the work is underway, meetings can be conducted onlin.
