Tender description

The initial contract is to provide services to Kildare County Council to develop and publish a Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP)/Climate Action Plan (CAP) for Kildare, which will satisfy the requirements of the EU Covenant of Mayors as well as Part 15 of the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Bill, 2020. The SECAP/CAP (presented as a single plan) is envisaged to cover a five-year term to tackle Kildare’s energy efficiency and CO2 emission reduction targets, as well as Kildare’s ambitious climate change adaptation strategy. This plan will reflect the requirement of the Government of Ireland Climate Action Plan 2019: “To tackle climate breakdown” (or other future iterations of this plan that may be adopted by Government prior to publishing the councils SECAP/CAP.) The plan may also reflect the requirements of other sectors on Kildare County Council. In addition to developing the SECAP/CAP, annual reports will be required by Kildare County Council to satisfy the requirements of Covenant of Mayors (SECAP) and the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications (CAP). This contract will include for development of these reports to a deadline and requirements to be determined.
