GoJ-IHE-T-Treatment and/or Haulage of Waste Visual Display Equipment (VDE)

Tender description

<p>The Government of Jersey, Infrastructure Housing and Environment &ndash; Department of Solid Waste (The Authority) recognise that hazardous wastes need to be managed in an environmentally sound manner and that if facilities are not available in Jersey that they will need to be exported to suitable recycling and disposal facilities overseas. The Authority requires: &bull; a contractor to treat and recycle (Lot 1-Treatment), and &bull; a contractor to transport (Lot 2-Haulage), or &bull; a contractor that can provide both options as a turnkey solution and alternative services (Lot 3)&hellip;. &hellip;To manage Waste Visual Display Equipment (VDE) generated in Jersey, The Authority receives waste Visual Display Equipment from the public and businesses at the local household and commercial recycling centre at La Collette Reclamation Site, St Helier, Jersey. WEEE and especially VDE contain hazardous components and substances and therefore are classified as hazardous waste. Hazardous wastes are subject to the Waste Management (Jersey) Law 2005, however as the Services are to be carried out outside Jersey (which is not the EU), Tenderers will also need to comply with the requirement of the Transfrontier Shipment regulations (TFS) regarding the recycling and disposal of VDE.</p> Keywords: Transport, Haulage, Waste, Visual Display Equipment, Treatment, Recycling
