Tender description

• A new 8 wheel drive mini-forwarder with a maximum un-laden weight of 2 tonne metric or less supplied by an established manufacturer or established sales agent of an established brand. The machine must have bogeys front and back to avoid operators and load leaning. The machine must have 2 directional drive via joysticks or similar method in order that the machine does not have to turn around inside woodland. • The machine must have a bunk capable of carrying 1-4 metric tonnes and be low impact • The machine must be capable of carrying various product lengths eg 3 m, 3.7 m, and 4.9 m – bunk must be capable of extension to support the longer lengths as required • The machine must have a 4.2 m or greater crane capable of lifting close to a metric tonne adjacent and close to half a metric tonne when extended. Crane to be operated by two joysticks • The machine must have suitable space or attachment to safely carry a chainsaw and oil/fuel • An enclosed tipping body for use with the bunk as an accessory to allow for transport of other materials eg stone/sediment and with an inset bucket for the crane grab to gather the above. • The crane must have a suitable energy grapple eg Farma 0.12 or equivalent • The machine must have suitable protection for working in the forest eg bumper etc to ensure that it will not be damaged by stumps/brash • The bunk should be suitably engineered to ensure that logs will not slide out if traversing steep slopes • The machine must be equipped with suitable lighting to ensure it can operate during lowlight conditions during the winter • A winch should be included for accessing products beyond the crane’s reach • The machine should be supplied with suitable chains or band-tracks to ensure it can manoeuvre and gain purchase in difficult terrain • The machine should be capable of being transported in a triple axle trailer behind a suitable road-worthy vehicle with towbar • Quote must include delivery and any import duty or additional cost associ
