Provision of Advanced Fencing Contract for the Glenamuck District Roads Scheme (GDRS)

Tender description

DLRCC proposes to improve the Glenamuck/Carrickmines/Kiltiernan area’s multi-modal transport infrastructure by developing the Glenamuck District Roads Scheme (GDRS). This proposed Advance Fencing Contract involves the installation of fencing to demarcate and secure the majority of the lands to be aquired by DLRCC for the future road scheme. The Advance Fencing Contract also involves the clearance of existing boundaries and installation of field gates to provide accesses to undertake these works and other advance contracts. The scope of the works involves everything that is contained within the Works Requirements. As a guide, the project comprises, but is not limited to: •Installation of approximately 4.2 km of timber post and wire fencing •Installation of Approximately 950 m of Timber post and tension mesh fence •Installation of approximately 170 m of timber post and rail fencing •Installation of approximately 33 Field Gates •Clearance of selected existing field boundaries and hedgerows to form access points to the works site. •As the works are to be carried out within the breeding bird season, the appointed contractor shall supply ecological supervision to select appropriate locations for vegetation clearance which are free from ecological constraints such as breeding birds or bat roosts. •Setting out of proposed fencelines from Autocad drawings and collecting as built information in Autocad format The fencing contract is intended to be completed in a single package however as documented in the pricing document, the works have been split into separate “lots” largely following land ownership. The contractor shall complete fencing lots as defined in the contract drawings in the order directed by the Employers Representative.
