Tender description

South East Water is seeking expressions of interest in its forthcoming tender exercise from suitably experienced and qualified audit firms for the provision of independent external financial auditor services, with an initial contract of 5 years and the option to extend up to a further 3 years starting August 2021. The aim of this tender is to appoint an external audit firm to provide an independent audit opinion on the individual and consolidated financial statements of the HDF group of companies. The group comprises 11 companies, including the UK parent company, two trading companies and two overseas registered companies used to raise finance for other group companies. The appointment of the new auditor to the group must be in compliance with the independence requirements of UK law and the Ethical Standards published by the Financial Reporting Council. The appointment must also be in line with the requirements of the group's senior loan documentation covenants, which prescribe that the auditor must be a firm of "international standing". As well as the independent audit of the financial statements, this tender also includes the audit of appointed water company regulatory accounts in accordance with ISAs (UK), applicable law and ICAEW guidance on "Reporting to Regulators on Regulated Accounts". The regulated accounts for SEW comply with Ofwat's Regulated Accounting Guidelines (RAGs).
