Tender description

LCC are responsible for meeting social care needs within HMP Altcourse. Due to the nature of the forensic estate, there are restrictions upon access controlled by G4S and it is not possible to obtain quotes etc., as other providers will not be able to deliver this service due to the nature of the service, therefore this is a specialist service. This funds the coordination of social care input, which includes the assessment for low level equipment by a Trusted Assessor reducing demand upon the Occupational Therapy teams. Without this service, alternative coordination would need to be identified within LCC, however, due to access issues in the prison, including to I.T. systems this would be less effective. This model is is being cited as the best practice model regionally by HMPPS and NHS England.
