Child Death Overview Panel

Tender description

The death of all children under the age of 18 must be reviewed through a Child Death Review Process (CDR). The CDR meetings consist of professionals who have had direct involvement in a child’s care to discuss the circumstances leading up to and surround their death. This information is then forwarded to a multi-professional Child Death Overview Panel in the area where the child would reside for anonymous discussion to try to identify if a death was modifiable and to quality assure the information presented. The main purpose of both meetings is to learn how to prevent future deaths.
