Provision of Cleaning Services at the National Museum of Flight

National Museums Scotland is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to supply a range of cleaning services at the National Museum of Flight in East Lothian for a period of three years (April-Oct inclusive) National Museums Scotland is seeking an appropriately qualified contractor with suitable experience to provide a range of cleaning services at the National Museum of Flight in East Lothian which include: Carrying out a variety of cleaning/housekeeping duties in all areas to a high standard. This includes but is not limited to: toilets, offices, stairs, corridors, hangars and out buildings. Duties include general cleaning, emptying of bins, waste disposal, dusting, polishing, buffing, replenishing toilet consumables, carpet shampooing, vacuuming, mopping and litter picking indoor and outdoor areas. Operating cleaning machinery/equipment as required. Participating in the NMoF recycling programme and handling of cleaning materials and fluids safely. Offer advice and directions to members of the public when engaged in front of house duties. Persons placed at NMoF will work effectively as part of a small team. They will be responsible to the General Assistant Team Leader and General Assistant and on occasions the Visitor Services managers. The National Museum of Flight (NMoF) is a Visit Scotland 5 Star Visitor Attraction and as such all contactors are expected to present positively to the public whilst operating on behalf of National Museums Scotland. The Museum also holds a Green Tourism Gold award and a Trip Advisor Award for Excellence. The Museum receives circa 85,000 visitors per year. The contract will start on 29 March 2021 and end on 31 October 2023 (annually running for a period of 7 months from April – October). An optional extension period of up to two years may be awarded subject to satisfactory performance.
