Summary of the work A specialist is required by MoD MedIS Programme CORTISONE to provide high quality independent advice on strategy, alignment of clinical specialisms, product definitions and system design to ensure clinical safety. Key to this role is an extensive understanding of the healthcare sector complimented with a broader knowledge of Defence. Specialist role Data architect Expected Contract Length 2 Years Latest start date Thursday 1 April 2021 Maximum Day Rate £1200 Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will work with MoD and NHS Crown Servants, Military Clinicians and MoD contractors who are currently providing both client side and supplier side support. What Specialists Work On MoD MedIS Programme CORTISONE requires a Chief Architect to provide high quality independent technical leadership to enable the delivery of an Eco System of COTS Health Information Applications and Services into the Defence Environment. They will be required to set technical strategy and direction for a multidisciplinary team, enabling the delivery partner to be held to account. This requires a firm understanding of NHS Systems and Services (4 Nations), the Health IT market and Defence Infrastructure to enable design challenges to be overcome and solutions implemented and rolled out to the user in all settings. Skills & Experience • Have experience of delivering a Health Information System capability into at least one of the one of the four NHS Nations. • Have recent experience (<12 months) of working with the UK MoD in a senior/leadership role to deliver a Digital Information System. • Have experience of the HIS marketplace where you have supported your client to make informed choices when developing procurement options and engaging the market with viable commercial propositions. • Have knowledge and experience of conducting Business Analysis and then translating that into Solution Design and Procurements to enable capability to be delivered to the Customer. • Give an example where you worked with a client to support the delivery of a Digital Healthcare Transformation project or programme, shaping the direction and implementation of solution design options. • Give an example of where you have worked with the MoD delivering an information system into the Defence Infrastructure (Fixed or Deployed). • Have knowledge and experience of how the NHS (4 Nations) operate in terms of their open standards, interfaces and infrastructure. • Be able to set direction for CORTISONE to interoperate with NHS National Systems and Services? This would include development of Non-Functional Requirements. Work Location MoD Defence Digital, Corsham, Wilts. SN13 9NR Working Arrangments Homeworking until further notice Following the end of the current Covid Lockdown, the specialist will work onsite at MoD Corsham. The number of onsite attendance days per week will be agreed with the specialist following any contract award. Travel to other MoD and NHS sites as and when required. The preferred candidate will be identified following the evaluation process. 3. Is this requirement inside or outside of IR35? Off-payroll working rules (IR35) do not apply for this requirement. 4. For the first essential criterion, are you expecting evidence of providing successful Health Information System capability to one nation (including multiple examples within the nation) or only one example per nation? For this criteria we are seeking evidence that the candidate has, as a minimum, experience of delivering a Health Information System into at least one of the 4 NHS Nations.
