Tender description

Laboratory analysis of macroinvertebrate samples from streams and ponds. It is essential that the data generated is comparable with the results of the GMEP project. The samples must be identified to species level and with compatible accuracy. The proposed supplier identified the stream samples previously and has access to a reference collection of invertebrates unique to the stream sites to be surveyed. This enables identification to be done to species level with the necessary accuracy and efficiency. The samples obtained from ponds contain a unique assemblage of species which require specialist knowledge. The proposed surveyor employs taxonomists with Natural History Museum IdQ (E062) qualifications and a Quality Management System with BS EN ISO 9001:2008 certification.
