Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and the LDA are progressing a new residential development at Shanganagh Castle, Shankill, Co. Dublin, which has received planning approval. The Development is accessed from the R199, Dublin Road, Shankill. The site of the Development is known to support smooth newts and common frog, both amphibian species protected by law in Ireland. A licence has been obtained from the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS, Licence No. C 194/2020) to exclude these species from the construction footprint of the Development, requiring the use of suitable exclusion fencing. The works to be carried out under this contract are summarised below with further detail contained in the accompanying tender documentation.
