Tender description

An existing exemption is in place with Wadacre Farm who undertake statutory kenneling on behalf of LCC 24 hours a day. Efforts were underway to explore the potential to in-source this service and renovate an unused council asset, however, the pandemic has meant that piece of work was not a priority. An exemption has been in place with a second pet accommodation and rescue, however, they are both unable to meet the scale of demand from LCC, nor able to respond to pandemic requirements. There is an extremely limited market for kenneling, necessitating going outside of LCC boundary, unable to identify an alternative with the capacity and response times required by LCC. An exemption is recommended to enable LCC to continue meeting it's statutory requirement.
