Tender description
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, as lead partner are responsible for the delivery of the PEACE IV Local Authority Action Plan - Beyond Tolerance, which will promote peace and reconciliation in the local area focusing on three key themes: Children and Young People, Shared Spaces and Services, Building Positive Relations. The Council is seeking to appoint a competent supplier to deliver Capacity Building and Training to Community Groups, which falls under the Building Positive Relations theme. The aim of the project is to provide support to and increase cross-community engagement of community groups through their need to build their capacity by obtaining knowledge and skills in the areas of risk assessment and health and safety compliance. The Covid 19 pandemic has resulted in and subsequently highlighted a need for this training. There is now an increased pressure on community groups from all backgrounds to comply with risk assessment and health and safety requirements in order to provide all levels of cross-community and good relations public engagement projects and events. The successful supplier will be required to: • Provide training in Risk Assessment and Health & Safety across the 7 District Electoral Areas of the Newry Mourne & Down District Council area. It would be anticipated that a minimum of five community groups would be recruited from each of the District Electoral Areas with a minimum of two participants from each community group undertaking the training. • The provider will be responsible for the recruitment of the community groups/participants. • The training will be delivered online until such times as Covid 19 regulations allow for face-to-face facilitation and engagement. • Training will be required in the following areas; 1 – Risk Assessment specific to Covid 19 2 – Risk Assessment general 3 – Health & Safety specific to Covid 19 4 – Health & Safety general 4 – Manual Handling 5 – First Aid Basics 6 – Fire Risk Assessment 7 - Event Man
