Glass Working Lathe

Tender description

The University of Edinburgh intends to purchase a glass working lathe to replace an existing piece of equipment. The glassblowing workshop is dedicated to the design and construction of specialised glassware for research and teaching within the School of Chemistry. The vast majority of research groups within the school use the service to obtain bespoke glassware, as do all of the teaching labs. From relatively basic apparatus such as chromatography columns and gas bubblers to complex vacuum manifolds and electrodes. Apparatus can be constructed in both borosilicate glass and quartz and is manufactured to the highest standards. The School of Chemistry intends to purchase a glass working lathe to replace an existing piece of equipment.
