Tender description

Edenderry is a bubbling fluidized bed boiler located in County Offaly in the Irish Midlands combusting indigenous milled peat as well as local and imported biomass circa 1 million tonnes per annum producing 118MW of power to the national grid. Fuel overall average moisture content is circa 50% and dry powdered calcium carbonate is injected to the furnace for sulphur abatement purposes. Combustion of a range of bio fuels and peat blends results in variable ash deposition on gas side tube surfaces which are in places heavy and stubborn requiring cleaning to ensure optimum efficiency and maximum availability of the boiler. We have started injecting Urea into the furnace on a commissioning basis this year to address new Nox emission targets. The works on offer are a key task within the Edenderry 2021 annual planned maintenance program and specifically boiler gas side cleaning. In exceptional circumstances and with reasonable notice to a cleaning provider Edenderry Power reserve the right to reschedule works or withdraw entirely from an agreement should a clean not be necessary.
