Tender description

The aim of the project is to provide support to and increase engagement of the local Syrian community in civic and community life. The successful supplier will have a good knowledge of Syrian community language and culture and will be required to: • Engage a minimum of 30 members of the local the local Syrian community; • Assist groups and individuals within the community through the provision of advice and signposting to other agencies, e.g. Council, NIHE, SHSCT, local community groups, etc. It is anticipated that a minimum of 3 hrs/week of advice/support will be provided. • Encourage the participation of the local Syrian community in relevant Peace IV and other programmes; • Facilitate engagement of the local Syrian community with local statutory and community/voluntary organisations and agencies; • Identify local community leaders to enable them to act as voices for the needs of their community; • In partnership with other organisations, organise and co-facilitate at least 3 workshops/engagement events. The workshops will be on topics identified by project participants, e.g. public services, education system, etc, and will last app. 2 hrs each. • Identify Syrian community needs and barriers to greater participation and integration in society and develop a plan to address same. The project will be delivered online until such times as Covid 19 regulations allow for face-to-face facilitation and engagement.
