Tender description

The supply of sterile drapes and theatre packs to Children's Hospital Ireland sites as a linen hire and managed service. The theatres in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin (OLCHC) and Children’s University Hospital, Temple Street (CUH) have a requirement for the hire and managed service of sterile packs and drapes in various sizes and arrangements. While the initial requirement is for OLCHC and CUH, other hospitals in the CHI group, other organisations funded by the HSE and other publicly funded agencies may avail of this contract. Providers of Sterile Packs and Drapes must have the capability and capacity to provide their services in a hospital environment in an efficient, flexible, consistent, reliable and sustainable manner. To this effect service providers must be independently accredited entities with the capability and capacity to provide a multi-site service to the participating Hospitals. Dependent on the operational needs and/or the patient profile of each hospital, these services may include, but are not limited to: • the provision of sterile packs and drapes assembled as per the specification of each hospital; • collection of used drapes and linen from the packs for reprocessing; • the provision of in-hospital stocking services as may be required. This notice is to advise the award of a 5-year contract to CWS-boco Ireland Ltd for the supply of sterile drapes and packs and the hire and managed service as described above. After a thorough investigation of the market it is believed that no other company in Ireland have the capacity to fulfil the requirements for the hire and managed service of sterile drapes and packs for the CHI theatre environments. This contract will give CHI continuity of supply, quality products and price stability for the next 5 years.
