Summary of the work A content designer to work on the end-to-end journey of the Reducing Invalid Planning Applications project developing a digital planning service for the submission of planning applications. Specialist role Content designer Expected Contract Length 6 months Latest start date Monday 19 April 2021 Maximum Day Rate TBA Early Market Engagement N/A Who Speclialist Work With Working with LB Lambeth project team, MHCLG, UR, other partner authorities and our developer Open Systems Lab (OSL) . What Specialists Work On Working on the end-to-end journey with a focus between the complex planning system language and language understood by non-specialist users. Working closely with Lambeth, the UR and developer teams attending daily (currently remote) stand ups as required. Find appropriate ways to test the content and use best practice patterns for creating copy. Ensuring appropriate content is shown to a user in the right place, in the best format. Developing a playbook building rules and/or principles re: writing content for the service. Providing a form of output report delivering recommendations, log of iterations and working to the GDS standards. Skills & Experience • Experience and knowledge of how to convey complex information using plain English and have a good understanding of how people use the web • Experience and ability of working with fluidity and unknown quantities. • Relationship management - building rapport and strong relationships and working with a variety of disciplines • Experience of and an understanding of how to structure content in a way that is intuitive. • Experience of designing in a user centred way using research to understand user needs and ability to measure what you put in place to ensure user needs are being met. • Ability to collate information and establish rules and principals that can be formulated into a playbook. • Ability to summarise findings and communicate recommendations, in both written and verbal format. Nice to Haves Awareness of planning applications Work Location Initially work will be completed remotely with meetings and workshops via MS Teams, Google meet etc. However if offices are able to reopen in the future, there may be a requirement to attend face to face meetings at Lambeth's Civic Centre, other partner authority premises and our developer based in East London. Working Arrangments The exact structure and working programme plan will need to be agreed on appointment. This phase of the project is scheduled to run from April to September/October 2021 with the option for a break of c3 weeks in/around June. Expenses will be limited to where additional travel may be required in any one day from the agreed start of day venue. What is the day rate or the overall budget for this role? The day rate has been left blank intentionally. We will assess the day rate for suppliers using the evaluation weighting we have disclosed on the requirements. The role is for a six month period and the budget will depend on the day rate for the successful supplier. 5.
