Collection, Storage and Disposal of Abandoned Vehicles

Tender description

Under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 and the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act 2005 the Authority has a responsibility to collect abandoned vehicles within its administrative area. Therefore the Authority is looking to re-tender a Contract to continue to provide this Abandoned Vehicle Service. The Service is required to cover the following: a) Collection of abandoned vehicles, including burnt out vehicles from within Torbay Council’s administrative boundary; b) Storage and disposal of vehicles collected; c) Removal of vehicles from the highway for other activity; and d) Removal and storage of vehicles parked on harbour land causing difficulty.
