Operational Assessment of Alternative Residual Waste Treatment Technologies

Tender description

This is an Open Tender for a contract opportunity to undertake an in-depth operational assessment of at least four (4) projects for alternative treatment technologies for residual waste on behalf of Zero Waste Scotland, followed by support for a peer review process. The assessment work should be completed no later than 02 August 2021 and the peer review support may be required up to 17 December 2021. Zero Waste Scotland wishes to appoint a Contractor for the provision of in-depth assessments that set out which alternative treatment technologies for residual waste, such as ‘biostabilisation to landfill’ are in operation, where are they located, how do they operate and why would they be considered successful examples. They may also be asked to provide support during the peer review process on a call off basis, where relevant and appropriate. The outputs of this work will be used to help develop our understanding of how existing waste treatment plants are operated, including the economic environment, waste management system, and policy landscape in which they operate, as well as the life-cycle carbon impacts of the process.
