DOJ NIPS Supply and Delivery of Three Forklifts

Tender description

The Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) wishes to procure three (3) new Forklift Trucks, one per site as follows: 1) Hydebank Wood College houses all male students between the ages of 18 and 24 and all female students over the age of 18. One of the parts of their resettlement plan is the education courses and vocational training that the students can attend. This allows the students to gain qualifications to help increase the opportunities available to them on release. Hydebank’s new forklift will be used in both the new vocational training workshop for students and can be used throughout the Centre by staff when needed. 2) The Recycling Department in HMP Maghaberry requires a forklift to move materials and recycling that cannot be moved by hand that requires loading onto the prison lorry. It will also be utilised for training purposes, with prisoners able to attain a qualification in Forklift driving. 3) The Transport Department in HMP Magilligan requires a forklift to move materials that cannot be moved by hand. It will also be utilised for training purposes with prisoners able to attain a qualification in Forklift driving.
