Beam School Carbon Steel Pipework Replacement

The replacement of the existing carbon steel pipework and associated equipment at Beam School, Oval Road North, Dagenham, Essex The carbon steel pipework installed in 2012 has deteriorated and failed in several areas causing leaks and damage to the building fabric. The carbon steel pipework is substantially located within floor ducts situated throughout the pre-1940’s school. The main distribution pipework run is located in the under croft which is accessible externally however, this area should be considered to be confined space therefore suitable health and safety provision and risk assessments must be submitted by the contractor at tender stage. Additional ducts are routed from the under croft within the school, each of which have carbon steel pipework installed. The carbon steel pipework was laid in the additional ducts without brackets and insulated with loose vermiculite granules The contractor shall allow for validations of the existing equipment to determine pump duties and shall then design, supply and install the heating pipework, controls and all builders work required. The contractor shall design and install new suitable brackets within the school local ducts The contractor shall sub-contract to a floor specialist to remove the duct covers within the school in a manner that will allow the duct covers to be re-installed at the end of the project. Any damage to the duct covers shall be repaired to the same standard and all works to be complete by the end of the school summer holiday (1st September 2021) Site visit strictly by appointment only Further information and tender documents are available on our e-tendering portal.
