NHS Nottingham & Nottinghamshire CCG would like to invite providers to attend a Virtual Market Engagement Event regarding the procurement of a service to provide a Special Allocation Scheme across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. It is a national requirement that a local Special Allocation Scheme (formerly ‘violent patient scheme’) provider is commissioned to deliver essential primary care services for patients which have been removed from their practice list due to violence and allocated to the Special Allocation Scheme. Provision for a Special Allocation Scheme is set out in the GMS and the PMS regulations (together, the ‘Regulations’). Local defined outcomes • To rehabilitate patients so that they can be discharged and transferred to mainstream primary care • To deliver the duty to secure provision of primary medical services for patients throughout England • To deliver a practice-based approach for delivering primary care services to patients who are removed from GP lists for reasons of abusive and violent behaviour • To balance the rights of the patients to receive services from GPs with the need to ensure that specified persons, including GPs, their staff, patients and others on the premises, deliver and receive those services without actual or threatened violence or other reasonable fear for their safety.
