Tender description
Staffordshire University has provided Residential Network communications services in Student Accommodation (a.k.a. ResNet) since 2013 and upon expiry at the designated date, intends to continue to outsource the requirement to an external service provider from the start of the 2021/22 academic year. The University is looking to appoint a managed service provider to upgrade, manage and administer ResNet over the next 3 to 4-year period. At this stage it is anticipated that the new data network will be installed and operational by September 2021. Project Scope To select a Managed Service Partner to provide a fully managed Residential Network communications service for residential users at University halls of residences (around 1,036 bedrooms and associated kitchens at January 2021). The scope of the intended solution will include the provision of Internet and IPTV to residents and conference delegates based in the residences. Scope will include transition from, and upgrade to, the current solution, implementation and management of the new solution, ownership of active hardware and provision of complete helpdesk support processes.
