Tender description

The Codling Wind Park (CWP) is located off Codling Bank, 13 km from the east coast of Ireland between Greystones and Wicklow, in water depths between 7 and 30 meters LAT. The development is planned to incorporate an offshore substation(s), transmission infrastructure and individual wind turbine foundations and structures, and enables grid connection cables to the Irish coastline. The purpose of the scope is to perform an offshore geophysical survey across the main site and along the export cable routes at Codling Offshore Windfarm that will include multibeam bathymetry, sonar imaging and seismic profiling. Lot 1: Offshore geophysical survey across the main site Full geophysical survey, including multibeam bathymetry, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler and medium penetration 2D ultra high-resolution multichannel seismic, as well as grab samples. Estimated size of the area to be investigated: 125 km2. Including option: 3D UHR multichannel seismic survey on smaller area. Lot 2: Offshore geophysical survey along export cable routes down to 6 m LAT. The smallest export cable corridor shows an approximative length of 15 km. Geophysical survey has to be performed on 500 m wide corridor with side scan sonar, multibeam bathymetry, sub-bottom profiler, single channel seismic, magnetometry and grab samples. Above-mentioned lot 2 route length is the minimum scope we would have to perform along the export cable route and the other routes are put as options of the lot 2 as described in section II.2.11). Including options: — estimated maximum corridor lengths to be investigated: 150 km (indicative and to be confirmed); — shore approach: 5 km long and 500 m wide corridor to be investigated in water depths from 7 m LAT to HWM with multibeam bathymetry, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler and magnetometry. A topographic survey is also expected to be performed at the landfall/beach during low tide to reach the 0 m LAT limit. Including option: 3D UHR multichannel seismic survey on smaller area(s) — Option 1: 3D UHR multichannel seismic survey for 1 area of size 3 km x 3 km; — Option 2: 3D UHR multichannel seismic survey for 2 areas of size 2 km x 2 km each. And Lot 2: Offshore geophysical survey along export cable routes down to 6 m LAT. The smallest export cable corridor shows an approximative length of 15 km. Geophysical survey has to be performed on 500 m wide corridor with side scan sonar, multibeam bathymetry, sub-bottom profiler, single channel seismic, magnetometry and grab samples. Including options: — estimated maximum corridor lengths to be investigated: 150 km (indicative and to be confirmed); — shore approach: 5 km long and 500 m wide corridor to be investigated in water depths from 7 m to HWM, with multibeam bathymetry, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler and magnetometry.
