Tender description

The Local Authority Heritage Officer Programme (LAHOP) was established by the Heritage Council and the local authorities of Galway City, Kerry and Sligo in 1999. The programme has grown over 20 years with the Heritage Officer role now established in 28 local authorities, and the programme is regarded as highly successful by the Heritage Council and Local Authorities. To ensure the impact and relevance of this programme and to maintain its key role in heritage management in Ireland within the context of the changing role of local government and the emerging policy landscape for heritage, a complete review of its scope, objectives and structure is now required. This review is being carried out jointly by the Heritage Council (HC) and the Local Authorities
