Tender description

This tender is divided into lots as follows: Lot 1: for Supply and Maintenance of New Blood Component Transportation Containers Lot 2: for the Maintenance of Current Va-q-tec Transportation Containers Please see section II.2.4) of each lot for a detailed description of procurement. NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) have transport container systems to transport blood components (red cells, platelets and frozen material) over both long and short distances. NHSBT requires a framework agreement by which they can purchase further transport containers along with a maintenance contract to repair and replace their existing fleet of Va-q-tec transport containers. Suppliers will need to provide a complete and ongoing maintenance, repair and replacement service of both the inner containers and outer covers to the current specification and maintained to the standard required by NHSBT including quality monitoring and thermal image testing at specified intervals to satisfy regulatory requirements. The supplier will also need to provide a collection and delivery service to nominated NHSBT sites. Any proposed new solution for this agreement must be cost effective, simple, safe, conducive to the current operational requirements, space saving, low weight and have excellent temperature control performance, including any temperature stabilisation material, across a range of ambient temperatures and distances. This tender will allow the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS), Northern Irish Blood Transfusion Service (NIBTS), Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) and Welsh Blood Service (WBS) to utilise this agreement. The procurement is split into lots as follows: Lot 1: NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) have transport container systems to transport blood components (red cells, platelets and frozen material) over both long and short distances. The award of this framework agreement will be to the most economically advantageous tender on the basis of the criteria set out in the invitation to tender guidance document available on Bravo (ref. NHSBT1209). No business whatsoever is guaranteed under any resulting framework agreement or contract indeed there is no guarantee that any framework agreement or contract will be put in place in relation to this notice. No compensation, etc. will be paid if a tender or resulting framework agreement is withdrawn for any reason. Bidders should take part in this process only on the basis that they fully understand and accept this position.
