Roscommon County Council - Road and Footpath Repairs Framework 2020

Tender description

The Contractor will carry out works on behalf of Roscommon County Council that will be similar to works normally carried out by the Council’s direct labour staff. Under a risk remediation programme, it is proposed to repair or replace over 4km of defective footpaths countywide. The works will be broken down into six works packages and will include single job lots in the municipal district areas of Athlone, Boyle and Roscommon. The Municipal District of Roscommon will be broken into two separate job lots, Roscommon Operational Area & Castlerea Operational Area. The Municipal District of Boyle will be broken into three separate job lots, Boyle Operational Area, Ballaghaderreen Operational Area and Strokestown Operational Area.The Municipal District of Athlone will be one separate job lot comprising of Athlone SouthOperational Area & Athlone North Operational Area. To carry out these works a Framework will be established and part of this framework application will include the initial contract for works on Lot 1 & 2 – Municipal District of Roscommon to include Roscommon Operational Area and Castlerea Operational Area. Typical works will include general patching and repair works to roads and footpaths, construction of new sections of footpath, installation or resetting gullies, installation or resetting manhole covers and other iron works in roadways and footpaths, installation of tactile paving, installation of service ducting, installation of sockets for signs or lampposts, repairs to block paving (natural and precast) and traffic and pedestrian management. The task orders for the work may vary in value from a one thousand Euros to several thousand Euro.
