Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) invites applications from suitably qualified companies to participate in the pre-qualification process for Civil Engineer Support Services.

Tender description

IE intends to carry out major roofing refurbishment and installation projects at its Maintenance Depots in Limerick and Dublin in 2020 and 2021, as well as put in place a roof over its Fuelling Slab at Portlaoise TrainCare Depot. The approximate surface of the roofing projects are as follows: • Dublin- 6,700 sq/m • Limerick – 800 sq/m • Portlaoise - 1200 sq/m It is also anticipated that other Civil Engineering Projects may arise at its Maintenance Depots over the next 3 years. IE reserve the right to rely on this competition to appoint relevant personnel to those projects. The services of a Civil Engineering consultant are sought for the following: • Carry out building surveys to ascertain the current condition and extent of remedial work required in re-roofing or otherwise upgrading the roofs • Prepare all designs, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities as necessary for the purpose of obtaining competitive tenders for roofing and other Civil Engineering Projects that may arise. • Assist Irish Rail in the evaluation of bid returns, develop comprehensive evaluation notes, partake in any tender evaluation meetings and prepare an evaluation report. The expertise of the Engineer will be relied upon in order to lead to the appointment of a suitable contractor via the relevant tender process. • Assisting in the assessment of the competence of the Contractors to act as Project Supervisor (Construction) Stage • Carry out the role of the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) under the Health Safety and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 and subsequent regulations, the scope of the works should include the following: Attached PQQ contains additional information with respect to the details of the requirements, please ensure you review these requirements fully.
