Tender description

The University has a requirement for the supply of Co2 to its Birmingham Institute for Forestry Research plant to potentially 2025 at its site at Mill Haft, Norbury Junction, Birmingham, Stafford ST20 0FJ. This covers supplies of around 6 000 tonnes per annum to the plant from peak times April to October each year with top up actions from November to March. The University has a requirement for the supply of Co2 to its Birmingham Institute for Forestry Research plant to potentially 2025 at its site at Mill Haft, Norbury Junction, Birmingham, Stafford ST20 0FJ. This covers supplies of around 6 000 tonnes per annum to the plant from peak times April to October each year with top up actions from November to March. The University would wish to award this contract to our existing supplier, Air Liquide, to 2025 (including extension options) for the following reasons: — the research is being extended to 2025 and the University would wish to remain with the same supply source in case there are any changes in the research data collated post a contract change and thus creating ambiguity in any data or outputs, — a change of supplier would require changes in equipment, therefore cost of change and commissioning at this critical point may prove prohibitive, — due to price volatility, extensions to attempt to stabilise pricing is a critical element current at this point in the research.
