National Gallery of Ireland, Library & Archives: API integration for Digital Collections and to enable access and curation via the Gallery’s existing website

Tender description

National Gallery of Ireland (NGI) Library & Archives are seeking a provider to design and develop an access and curation layer on the Gallery’s website to showcase the digital collections of the NGI’s Library and Archive Collections. This requires the development of an API to access the existing digital collections (which utilises Axiell CALM and Extensis Portfolio management software) and integration with the current website (which utilises a Drupel 8 CMS). The NGI Library and Archives’ collections and digital assets are currently managed using a number of systems. The solution required will need to bring together data from appropriate systems and present in a way that is visually appealing way via the NGI website. The solution must aggregate existing data through use of a ‘middleware’ solution. To facilitate this, there is also a requirement for up to 7 new templates for the web frontend in order to bring the digital collections into the NGI brand.
