ID: 402043 requests for expressions of interest for a child residential placement

Tender description

We are tentatively looking for a registered Childrens home placement for a teenage boy who may potentially require a placement in a very rural location. He went missing and was arrested in a City location approximately 60 miles from Darlington, for carrying a weapon. Darlington Police collected him and brought him back and placed him in police protection. He assaulted a police officer whilst trying to abscond so is in Court this morning charged with assaulting a police officer. The Police have referred him under the National Referral Mechanism under Modern Slavery Legislation as he is currently deemed by them as high risk. He is very keen on running to London and is interested in gang culture. He has a diagnosis of ADHD and ODD and is being assessed for ASD. Professionals are worried about his safety and criminal exploitation. He is felt to be a target for County lines and criminal exploitation. Parents are very supportive and the Local Authority are looking at putting together a safety plan for him at home. However, as a contingency I am starting to search to see if there are any placements that could offer him the safety and support he needs should parents not feel able to keep him safe or he is remanded to the care of the Local Authority.
