Tender description

As evident from its latest Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP19) and Drought Plan, UUW now employs a very wide range of tools and techniques for water resources modelling and decision making support. Efficiency and cost saving are prominent business drivers and UUW continues to explore the use of water resources models and techniques such as genetic algorithms to optimise the supply system, through the development of operating rules, drought triggers, etc. The company is seeking to award framework agreements to a maximum of 3 suppliers that can provide these services. — hydrological analysis support including in the following areas: long-standing methods such as rainfall-runoff modelling; newer methods such as stochastic modelling; and emerging methods such as those employing global climate model ensemble runs to simulate droughts. — Aquator™ water resources modelling expertise and support to UUW in the production of the water resources management plan, drought plan, and other business decision-making, — decision making (i.e. tools and techniques) expertise and support for the water resources management plan (including options appraisal), drought plan, and other business decision-making, — critique and auditing, as required, of UUW’s approaches with respect to the above activities, and to ensure that that the company’s legal and regulatory requirements are met without compromise on the above aims.
