Food Strategy Actions Coordination & Delivery

The contracting of a suitably qualified party to coordinate the delivery of the Kilkenny Food Strategy actions that will include; 1. the research and development of an appropriate 'food verification system for the food producers, retailers, food service and hospitality sectors; 2. the development of a branding strategy to unify the various imprints currently in use and to optimise Kilkenny's position in food culture/ business; 3. oversee the delivery of a series of training initiatives to promote the value of food and culinary arts among selected target groups within Kilkenny and the region; 4. lead the expansion of a food culture element in existing and proposed local events and festivals with, until now, a non-food focus. The party will be based in a Kilkenny location and will work on coordinating the foregoing on an average of 20 hours a week over an 18-month period, commencing in approx. the second quarter of 2020. The successful party will have demonstrated an ability to lead, coordinate and project manage similar multi-faceted initiatives. Coordination skills and experience should include: budget/ finance planning & reporting; facilitating meetings, working with diverse stakeholders, event scheduling and planning. Experience of working in- or with the wider food sector would be an advantage- as would a knowledge of the food production and tradition in the Kilkenny region.
