Tender description
The Programme Grant (PGII) is Irish Aid’s largest civil society fund and is used to support long-term development interventions. These programmes take place in over forty countries, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa, but also in Asia and Latin America. Along with overseas programmes, the Programme Grant also supports organisations to implement public engagement and development education programmes in Ireland. The public engagement programme aims to increase the Irish public’s understanding of global development issues, and to strengthen public ownership of Ireland’s aid programme and Ireland’s global development cooperation role. The development education programme goes further, empowering people to analyse and challenge the root causes and consequences of poverty and injustice. There are thirteen partners - all thirteen implement a public engagement programme, while five also implement a development education programme. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is seeking support from a consultant(s) to work with the Programme Grant and Global Citizenship teams to jointly monitor PGII Public Engagement and Development Education programmes.
