Tender description
Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) is seeking to enter into a long term supply agreement with a specialist company[s] with a demonstrable track record in the Supply of Toilet Vinyl for its ICR Fleet. IÉ wish to seek to enter into an agreement for either 1] Supply only or 2] Supply and Fit. Should IÉ take up the option for supply and fit, the fitting will be carried out in IÉ’s Portlaoise Train Care Depot, where uninterrupted access will be available 24/7. IÉ wish to refurbish the toilet interiors whereby the vertical surfaces [including the door] of the toilet interiors are over-laminated with a vinyl film material. The ICR Fleet [22000 Class DMU] was manufactured by Rotem and entered into service in 2008, a unit consists of 3 and 5 cars and there are 63 units in total within the fleet. Each car is fitted with either a wheelchair accessible universal toilet or a standard toilet, with both types of toilets manufactured by BFG. In total there are 161 no. standard toilets and 73 no. universal toilets in the ICR Fleet. IÉ will choose colours that are available from a standard product range, with the final decision made after contract award. The basic requirements for the vinyl required by IÉ will cover [but not be limited to] the following: • It must be a cast vinyl. • It must be capable of adhering to tight compound curves. • It must be suitable for use in Rail Vehicles and Rail Vehicle Toilet Environments. • It must be robust and durable for a period of 6 years. • It is to be resistant to unauthorised removal. • It must have anti-graffiti protection. • It is to have a matt finish. • It is to be solid in colour and opaque. • It must be easily cleaned and maintained. • It must be capable of being removed and replaced within a maximum period of 2 hours (subject to the size of the vinyl panel). • Minimum residue should remain on the substrate once the film is removed. • There shall be minimal removal of the substrates coating during the films removal.
