Tender request seeking innovative methodologies that will address the apparent challenge of a lack of ambitious start-ups and entrepreneurs in the NW region. The tender request seeks new and innovative approaches for the region. However it is likely that the research element is likely to include: • A review of the current and likely future drivers and barriers to ambitious entrepreneurship and start-ups in the region. • A review of the current actions and programmes aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and start-ups in the region. • The identification and review of the current sectors with strong start-up performance. • The identification of current and likely future sectoral opportunities in the region for start-ups including the blue economy. • A review of good practice and successful models for new business start-ups within Ireland and internationally. • A comparison of the region with national trends and identified regions of good practice. • Recommendations for new and innovative models, approaches, actions and programmes.
