Management Services for the Southport Cycle Hire Scheme

Sefton Council invites bidders to submit proposals to manage the existing Southport Cycle Hire Scheme in conjunction with Sefton Council. The bidder should have experience of running a hire / maintenance service and / or have some retail experience. The new contract offers a significant business opportunity for the right, customer focussed organisation to work with the Council in running and growing the existing cycle hire scheme. The cycle hire scheme hires from the Eco Centre only (with the back office and maintenance space still available at the centre in the station). The scheme currently has over 100 adult bikes, over 40 children’s bikes and also tag-a-longs, trailers and child seats. In order to hire a bike, the following process applies: • members of the public arrive at the centre with photo and address ID (the main hirer must be 18 years or older) • fill in a registration form • pay the fee for up to 4 hours or for a full day • take the bike (s), helmets and locks (which are included as part of the fee) • return the bike (s) at the appropriate time Further details on the scheme can be viewed at https://visitseftonandwestlancs.co.uk/cyclehire Keywords: Cycle Hire, Transport, Leisure, Management Services
