Tender description

Provision of eCOSHH chemical database system. The University of Strathclyde requires a chemical database system to aid in maintaining health and safety standards in the use of chemical substances across campus laboratories. The system must allow for the inclusion of data such as: — chemical name, — formula, — CAS, — GHS hazard class, — category, — code and statement, — Workplace exposure limits (WEL), — Smiles, — pH, — molecular weight, — boiling point, — flash point and density, — physical form, — synonyms. This data must be provided in a structured format suitable for importing into a database. This data will then be used to populate section 2 of the eCOSHH form on the University's web-based safety system that manages the COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) which records the various chemical/biological agents used in the activities in the laboratories on campus and how their safe use is managed.
