This was a regional insurance tender for 4 South West Police Services comprising, Avon and Somerset Constabulary, Devon and Cornwal and Dorset Police, Gloucestershire Constabulary, Wiltshire Police. The range of services requested were divided into lots for this procurement process as follows: Lot 1: Property insurance (material, BI, money and computer); Lot 2: Liability; Lot 3: Motor; Lot 4: Engineering; Lot 5: Airside; Lot 6: Crime; Lot 7: personal accident/business travel; Lot 8: Marine; Lot 9: Terrorism. Bids were requested on a standalone basis for each of the Forces. Each quote for each authority within SWP must be valid as standalone quote. Each lot would be awarded to one single insurer. Each force will have an individual insurance contract, as SWP does not intend to pool risks as a consortium. Therefore, each member force’s claims history and risk management will affect their premium rather than the group’s premiums.
