Tender description
The aim of this project is to create an iconic, sustainable building focused around the School of Health & Human Performance, other STEM subjects and general teaching facilities at the heart of the Dublin City University Glasnevin campus. The building is anticipated to contain six levels including a small basement for heavy plant as well as mezzanine levels between ground & first floor. The building is designed to comply with NZEB, EXEED design and BREEAM Excellent ratings. The building will include a range of specialist laboratories for the School of Health & Human Performance and STEM including Biomechanics lab, Movement lab/Sports hall, Life lab, Immersive Visualisation Suite/XR lab, Strength and Conditioning Lab, Biological Lab, Biomedical Engineering Lab, Mechatronics, Robotics and others. The building will also house a number of lecture theatres of various types and capacities as well other teaching spaces, offices, café, study areas and a central atria spanning across all levels. The building will be fully Electrified (i.e. no fossil fuels will be burned to provide energy for the building) The Electrical Services installations including but not limited to the following: mains distribution, sub-mains distribution, containment, power, lighting, earthing & bonding, communication systems, audio / visual, security, fire alarms, BMS, and all other services such mechanical wiring, and the like.
