1. INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW 1.1 Background Dublin Bus invites you to tender for the provision of a managed courier service to support its operations within the Dublin area. Of central importance to the Company is the availability of a reliable courier service for all of its ad-hoc & planned courier requirements. This document is intended to provide the specification and details required to respond to this invitation. 1.2 Scope of requirements The successful bidder will be expected to be able to provide a fully managed courier service to Dublin Bus within the Dublin area, so proposals should take account of the specific requirements outlined in Section 3 (Methodology). The specific courier services required are as outlined in Section 2 below. The intention is to award a three year contract to the successful party, but obviously subject to ongoing review to ensure satisfactory performance. 2. COURIER SERVICE REQUIREMENTS The following specific and general delivery services will be required. 2.1 Tax Saver Division – Commuter ticket deliveries to companies. Over the last 10 days of each month Dublin Bus delivers commuter tickets to Companies who have ordered same for their employees. The average number of deliveries per month from February to December is 160, and this increases to 250 on average during the month of January. All Companies are based within the Dublin Bus commuter network. 2.2 General day-to-day courier services This will include deliveries and collections from/to various departments within Dublin Bus, including the following: a) Dublin Bus Depot to Depot, b) Central Dublin Bus locations to Depot or to other CIÉ locations within the Dublin area c) Non-Dublin Bus locations to Depot / central locations These services will be generally infrequent but it should be possible to order via an on-line booking system.
