Tender description

Nature and quantity of value of supplies or services for each of the service categories Special Projects Explosive Ordinance Disposal & Search (SPEOD&S) has a requirement to procure a number of Personal Mine Extraction Kits (PMEK) and a smaller number of Vehicle Mine Extraction Kits (VMEK). These kits are used by an individual to extract themselves (PMEK) or a vehicle (VMEK) from a minefield, by enabling the identification of mines and tripwires and the marking of safe or suspect routes. PMEK and VMEK holdings include a pouch or hard case (respectively), mine prodder, white (safe) day route markers, red (suspect) day route markers, tripwire feeler and technical sheet. There is also a requirement within the PMEK system for cyalumes: green (safe) night route markers and red (suspect) night route markers but these should be supplied separately to the rest of the kit and provisioned upon request. The holdings within the PMEK and VMEK systems will need to be of high quality, durable and fit for purpose, lightweight, readily available for supply and affordable through life. The nature of this requirement will encompass a series of staggered deliveries of PMEK and VMEK systems to reach the amount desired by the authority (including systems already in stores), and the option to procure more, within the same contract, until the Out of Service Date (OSD) of 2026. Current PMEK and VMEK holdings may also need to be replaced. SPEOD&S is seeking an experienced contractor with the ability to understand and produce the different components of the PMEK and VMEK systems in addition to the full systems. Contract: 3 years firm and 3 option years until the out of service date of 2026.
