Ball Walls – Engineering Consultancy Services for Design and Construction of Ball Walls at Four Locations in Galway City

Galway City Council requires Engineering Consultancy Services for the construction of ball walls and associated works at four sites: • Lot 1: Doughiska Park • Lot 2: Westside Amenity Park • Lot 3: Crestwood Park • Lot 4: McGrath’s Field Galway City Council reserve the right to select either, any, none or part of the above Lots. The proposed works consist of ball walls, playing surface, fencing, sports floodlighting, public lighting, surface water drainage, footpaths and access. The successful consultant’s project team shall consist of the following expertise: 1. Civil & Structural Engineer (Lead Consultant) 2. Mechanical & Electrical Engineer 3. Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) 4. Employers Representative The successful tenderer will be required to: 1. Perform the role of Designer, PSDP, and Employer’s Representative for the project. 2. Procure and manage the delivery of third party contracts. 3. Prepare preliminary designs and costs for the works at each site. 4. Prepare a detailed design for the lighting, to include a full LUX lighting assessment and plan. 5. Prepare and submit planning applications for each site, including accompanying documentation and drawings, to the planning authority for statutory approval under Part VIII of the Planning and Development Regulations. 6. Undertake stakeholder and public consultation as part of the planning process. 7. Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for the works, including updated cost reports for each of the sites. 8. Prepare tender documents using the relevant Public Works Contracts. 9. Provide a maintenance / upkeep schedule for each of the sites. 10. Coordinate with the PSCS, the Contractor and the Design Team to prepare the Safety File; and handover finished site to Galway City Council once works have been completed.
