Tender description

In 2018 Irish Water completed a below threshold competitive tender process for the supply of electrical engineering consultancy and inspection services. The contract was awarded to JB Barry and Partners Limited. Irish Water has an urgent requirement for additional electrical inspections at 86 sites nationally and a one year appointment of an electrical specialist. Irish Water intends to award a restated agreement to JB Barry and Partners Ltd on the basis of the negotiated procedure without prior call for competition pursuant to Article 50(d) of Directive 2014/25/EU. The original scope of works for this programme was for the appointment of a consultant to prepare electrical equipment specifications, complete electrical panel inspections and generator ready site inspections for a pilot study consisting of 44 water treatment plants and waste water treatment plants nationally. Following a fire at a similar type of site towards the end of 2019, Irish Water has an urgent requirement for additional electrical inspections at 86 sites nationally and a 1 year appointment of an electrical specialist to fulfil the role of competent person, assessing the electrical inspection reports and determining the most appropriate means of risk reduction.
