TC109 - Smoking Cessation Services with Pharmacies Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS)

Tender description

The Borough Council of Bolton (“the Authority”) is prepared to receive tenders to be included on the Dynamic Purchasing System for Smoking Cessation Services with Pharmacies which will be subject to the information, specification and tender package enclosed. Smoking is the most significant preventable cause of ill health, premature death, and health inequalities in Bolton. Supporting a smoker to quit is one of the most effective ways any healthcare professional can help improve a person’s health and therefore the Authority seeks to procure pharmacies to provide smoking cessation services. A Dynamic Purchasing System is, in effect, an open Purchasing System to which new providers can apply to be appointed to during its life. During this period new providers will be able to gain entry onto the Dynamic Purchasing System. During this period, the Dynamic Purchasing System will remain open during the term of the Purchasing System; new providers will be able to gain entry onto the Dynamic Purchasing System. It is envisaged that the Dynamic Purchasing System will be re-opened as and when there is a requirement for further provision, but as a minimum every six (6) months.
