Denbighshire County Council is modernising all of its in-house care services. Following extensive engagement with stakeholders, the Council seeks an innovative and progressive partner/partners to take over the running of two of our work based day activity services. Denbighshire County Council is modernising all of its in-house care services. Following extensive engagement with stakeholders, the Council seeks an innovative and progressive partner/partners to take over the running of 2 of our work based day activity services. 1) Meifod wood products: an experienced and well trained team made up of a mix of Agency and Council staff presently provides daily support to up to 11 adults with a learning disability/high functioning autism. The focus of this activity is the manufacture of high quality garden furniture and related items. The service operates in leased premises and is based on an industrial estate in Denbigh and operates Monday to Friday; 2) Garden control: currently supported by one Agency staff member, a small team of up to 4 people with a learning disability carry out, on a daily basis, basic gardening tasks for private individuals. The team is based in Rhyl but is mobile and cover the whole County. Garden control also operates Monday to Friday. Support is delivered in half day sessions, with a session consisting of between 3 and 4 hours. Currently Denbighshire pay between 8,00 GBP and 13,00 GBP per hour for similar day service placements. The Council would like to invite providers with experience in running such services to discuss these plans further. Partners for these projects will demonstrate a clear vision for the development of them, with a focus on promoting independence and well-being, as well as growing the business side of the enterprises. Partners would share the vision to maintain social care values, including the Welsh language and culture and continue the positive relationships with the local community. This is an exciting opportunity for a provider with expertise and a proven track record in providing a similar service, to run well-established and valued services, with skilled and experienced staff. The commissioned provider will continue to deliver high quality support for adults with a disability, offering value for money and delivering outcomes to meet the needs of the community. However, the commissioner is interested in exploring how the providers may wish to bring new ideas and approaches to service delivery as well as opportunities to expand the services further in a way that supports progression for individuals.
