Tender description

Wealden District Council (WDC) invited suppliers to submit a tender to provide engineering services to develop the Hailsham Aspires development Masterplan up to RIBA stage 2 and the submission of a validated outline planning application. It will look at how they can deliver an exciting and successful high-quality area within the town centre, that comprises of retail, office/employment, residential, leisure, public realm, civic space and car parking, that both fulfils the needs and desires of Hailsham now and in the future. Wealden District Council sought tenders from suitably qualified engineers to develop the Hailsham Aspires development Masterplan up to RIBA stage 2. The Hailsham Aspires area is located in the north east of Hailsham town centre and currently includes: Vicarage Field Shopping Centre, Hailsham Parish Church, Wealden District Council Offices, the Freedom Leisure Centre, The Charles Hunt Centre, the Hailsham Club and significant car parking areas, as well as parts of the high street. The overall Masterplan is to create an area within Hailsham town centre that comprises of retail, office/employment, residential, leisure, public realm, civic space and car parking. The scope of works include: — engineering services to RIBA stage 2, — submission of a validated outline planning application, — initial design work, — design feasibility, — design refinement.
